"Cider Festival" will be held on November 4th at the former Hirosaki Kaikosha (Miyukicho, Hirosaki City).

The event is sponsored by the Hirosaki Cider Association, which was established in 2021 mainly by brewers and contract brewers. The venue, the former Hirosaki Kaikosha, is a Western-style building built in 1907 (Meiji 40) and is a designated important cultural property of the country. On the day of the event, 15 types of ciders and dishes to match the ciders will be prepared in the main hall.

In recent years, cider making has become more active in Hirosaki as cider has become a 6th industry. The association planned the event, saying, ``We want people to enjoy cider casually.'' They want people to taste and compare locally made craft ciders.

The ticket price is 4,000 yen. You can enjoy 2 glasses of cider and 4 types of dishes. The food will be prepared by Taishu Bar BASK (Honmachi). They offer dishes such as chili con carne and steamed mussels in cider. Additional cider will be available for 500 yen per cup.

Tetsushi Takahashi, president of the association, says, ``We hope this will be an opportunity for people to enjoy cider while enjoying Hirosaki's representative Western-style architecture.''

The event will be held from 14:00 to 20:00. Tickets will be sold at Hummingbird Liquor Store (Tomita), Package Plaza Kobayashi (Watoku-cho), BRICK A-FACTORY (Omotemachi), etc.
