At the gallery "Gallery Moriyama" (Kiki, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-35-6787 ), "Yurei Exhibition" is currently being held.

About 80 ghost paintings borrowed from 8 temples mainly in the Hirosaki and Kuroishi areas will be on display. It is an annual project held every year during the Bon Festival, and this year marks the 19th time. The museum's director, Yutaka Moriyama, said, ``There are many familiar ghost paintings this year, but there are many repeat visitors. ba,” he says.

Among the ghost paintings are the hanging scroll of the decapitated head, "Watanabe Kinzaburo's Decapitation," which attracted much attention during a live television broadcast in 1976, when it was said that "my eyes opened." etc. will be displayed. “This year, the number of hanging scrolls with ghost paintings has increased, so we are exhibiting mainly ghost paintings,” says Moriyama.

The anti-crime security system was activated twice during preparations for the exhibition in late July and during the exhibition period. "The cause is unknown, but it happened in the exhibition space on the 2nd floor. It may be because Mr. Ko Otaka's sketches of ghosts were displayed," says Moriyama.

One week has passed since the exhibition, and there are many visitors from outside the prefecture, and there are already visitors from Tokyo and Osaka this year. Moriyama says, "We want you to enjoy the ghost paintings while looking at the structure of our museum, which is a renovated 120-year-old traditional house."

The event is held from 10:00 to 18:00. The memorial service fee (entrance fee) is 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. Until August 18th.
