The event "Taiwan Festival" by commercial high school students in Aomori Prefecture will be held on July 28th and 29th at the Aomori Station Park adjacent to the Aomori Startup Center on the 1st floor of the Aomori Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall (1 Shinmachi, Aomori City).

The Taiwan Festival is the first event in the prefecture for high school students to be held in collaboration with Aomori Commercial High School, Hirosaki Commercial High School, Hachinohe Commercial High School, Misawa Commercial High School, and Kuroishi High School. The goal is for high school students to act as a bridge between Aomori Prefecture and Taiwan and become people who can communicate internationally from a business perspective.

Since 2018, Aomori Commercial High School has been interacting with Taiwanese companies as part of its classes, so it planned an event to introduce Taiwanese culture and food. The concept of the event is a festival by the Shogyo tribe, commercial high school students living in the fictitious town of Taineko. It is inspired by Taiwan's night stall "Night Market".

According to Rina Oyama (3rd year), the chairman of the executive committee, on the day of the event, 200 handmade “Taiwanese-style lanterns” were displayed, hand-made signboards with Taiwanese red and yellow color schemes were displayed, and the atmosphere of the night market was created. While doing so, they plan to prepare stage events such as sales of Taiwanese gourmet food, products and miscellaneous goods, and talk shows. Currently, preparations are underway while sharing and collaborating with each school.

Regarding the highlight of the event, Rio Chiba (3rd year), general manager of the sales department, said, "Taiwanese gourmet food selected by commercial students." Taiwanese restaurants and companies in the prefecture will open a store, and in addition to grilled xiao long bao, rou ro rice, fried rice, desserts such as tofu, love eggs, and Taiwanese castella, Taiwanese We also sell apricot kernel tofu and Darjee Pie (deep-fried chicken) from the company "Evarich". "Everrich's products were sold at the Taiwan Festival for the first time in Japan," said Mr. Chiba. "We have a lot of things that you can't usually eat. We negotiated with them so that we could offer them in sizes and quantities that are unique to Taiwanese festivals.

Ms. Oyama said, “The Taiwan Festival is a place where we can show our strength together with members from other schools while valuing the efforts of our seniors. I want to make it exciting so that you can enjoy the feeling," he said.

The opening hours are from 10:00 to 19:00 (until 18:00 on the 29th).
