The craft event "Haikara Terrace" will be held on May 13th and 14th at the "Multipurpose Hall Apple" in Itayanagi, Aomori (Hainuma Iwai, Itayanagi Town).

Haikara Terrace will be held as an alternative event to the craft event "Toki no Ichi" held every spring and autumn at Seiryu-ji Temple (Kuwabara Yamazaki, Aomori City). The "Toki no Ichi" is known as a "craft event where you can enjoy wearing kimono".

According to Shima Yamaguchi, owner of the miscellaneous goods store "Minotsukisha" (Yanagawa, Aomori City), he had been thinking about canceling the spring event because the precincts of Seiryu-ji Temple were under construction. There was also a request for the event, and it was said that it was held at "Apple". “Apple is a Western-style building, and you can feel the romance of the Taisho era. It didn’t have the atmosphere of ‘Toki no Ichi,’ so we changed the name of the event to ‘Haikara Terrace,’” says Yamaguchi.

"Appuru" is used at weddings, community gatherings, and study groups. The site area is 2.3 hectares. Haikara Terrace will also have booths at the entrance rotary, as well as a kitchen car and a stick bread corner. In the building, Japanese-style rooms and conference rooms are also used, including the hall and foyer. In the Japanese-style room, there will be shops by craft artists with a Japanese image such as "Kokeshi" and "Koginzashi".

It will be the first time that the "Toki no Ichi" has been held 16 times since 2014 (Heisei 26), but the number of stalls will be 90, which is more than the "Toki no Ichi". Mr. Yamaguchi said, "Not only did we make good use of the premises, but there are also many first-time stores from Hirosaki and Itayanagi. This is the largest number of stores ever opened."

In addition, a photo spot will be set up at the venue, and more than 200 kimonos and haoris will be sold for 500 yen. Yamaguchi says, "Although it's called kimono, I want you to enjoy it as if you were cosplaying. Please feel free to visit us without formalities."

The event is held from 10:00 to 16:00. free entrance.
