On May 4, Miura Sake Brewery (Ishiwata, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-32-1577 ) called for the return of the 1.8-liter bottle on SNS.

Founded in 1930, the company is known for its representative brand, Hohai. Mr. Fumihito Miura of Miura Sake Brewery posted that there is a shortage of 1.8 liter bottles. In the post, it is about the current situation that the number of 1.8 liter bottles is decreasing due to the corona sickness, and the content of calling for the return of 1.8 liter bottles to liquor stores in Aomori Prefecture.

Mr. Miura said, ``Sake bottle shortages began to become a problem at the end of last year, with glass bottle factories closing down due to the coronavirus pandemic. And it is not profitable," he said.

The 1.8-liter bottles that are being asked to be returned are brown and green, and the brand does not matter. According to Mr. Miura, the number of 1.8 liter bottles collected each year has been decreasing, and the custom of putting them out on garbage day instead of the local garbage collection has increased. “If you put the bottles out on garbage day, there is a high chance that they will be chipped or broken and cannot be reused. As for recycling, there are not many new bottles being produced due to the closure of bottle manufacturers. I'll be back," said Miura.

Currently, we have stopped selling the 1.8L bottle size of our main product, Hohai Tokubetsu Junmaishu, and only sell 720ml and 300ml bottles. The company has set up a collection corner at the entrance of the direct sales store and accepts the collection of empty bottles. According to Miura, nearly 100 empty bottles were collected on the day of posting on social media.

Mr. Miura said, "I have never experienced a shortage of bottles. If things continue as they are now, it will be difficult to supply 1.8 liter bottles even though we have sake. We would appreciate your cooperation."
