Hirosaki High School student Mariko Sato will be in charge of the closing ceremony of the 95th Memorial High School Baseball Championship (Senbatsu).

Sato is a second-year student at the Hirosaki High School Broadcasting Station. He won second place in the announcement category of the NHK Cup National High School Broadcasting Contest and won the highest award in the Tohoku High School Broadcasting Contest, leading to him being selected as the host of the spring Senbatsu closing ceremony.

"I got the message that I was chosen as the moderator. I couldn't help but raise my voice in joy, and it resounded throughout the classroom," said Mr. Sato. The manuscript to be read at the broadcast contest was compiled by himself, and Mr. Sato interviewed the school's drama club. Mr. Sato recalled, "In addition to writing an article about how the five club members played 27 roles, I also interviewed university students in Hirosaki, and learned a lot about myself."

Mr. Sato says, "My dream for the future is to be an announcer who goes to the field and reports." "One of my goals was to be the moderator for Senbatsu. I want to keep my spirits up and work with a bright mind," he said enthusiastically.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for March 31st.
