On February 21, heavy snow fell in the Tsugaru region, centering on Hirosaki, and the total amount of snow exceeded 100 centimeters.

According to an announcement by the Aomori Meteorological Observatory, on February 21, snow clouds that had developed stagnated, leading to heavy snow in the evening. As of 4:00 p.m., Hirosaki recorded a 24-hour snowfall of 33 centimeters, bringing the snowfall to 106 centimeters. Hirakawa and Ikarigaseki recorded 39 centimeters of snow, and Aomori and Sukayu recorded 4 meters of snow for the first time this season.

Hirosaki also recorded heavy snowfall from February 15 to 16, with a 12-hour snowfall of 41 centimeters, the second highest in recorded history. Snowfall reached 120 centimeters, but was blessed with fine weather and was reduced to 73 centimeters on the 19th.

Hirosaki citizens were busy shoveling snow from the morning for the second time in February. A man in his 20s who started shoveling snow from his home and office at 3:00 a.m. said, "I missed breakfast." A woman in her 50s said, "The snow was still light the other day, but it's heavy this time." On the Internet, there were voices lamenting, "This time it's stronger and harder" and "It makes you feel like spring and then it snows again. It's a nasty way to fall."

The Aomori Local Meteorological Observatory says that although the heavy snow pass has passed, the winter-type atmospheric pressure pattern is expected to continue until the beginning of the 22nd, calling for caution against traffic disruptions and avalanches.
