    Aomori Toyama High School Art Department Volunteer Exhibition "Sonogo no Art Department 6" started on October 6th at the Aomori City Museum of Art (2 Shinmachi, Aomori City).

    About 30 works of various genres such as paintings, photographs, videos, cartoons, reliefs, illustrations, pottery, glass, and resin accessories by 18 graduates of Aomori Toyama High School, which closed in 2013, will be exhibited.

    Haruka Miyano, who presides over the school, is a freshman in the school's art department (graduated in 2006). “When the school was closed, we got together and held a special exhibition ``Aomori Toyama High School Art Department Volunteers Exhibition Sogo no 7 Groups'' the following year. The title was changed to 'Art Department', and now it has developed into a special exhibition that includes teachers and regular course students, including juniors."

    Rie Kubota, who graduated from the general course and will be exhibiting for the fourth time, said, "I create while working as a company employee. The existence of this exhibition encourages me when creating my work and gives me a sense of purpose in life. I hope it will be an opportunity for people to see my work,” he said with a smile.

    A man in his 40s who saw the exhibition for the first time said, "It's interesting to be able to see the works of people who are active professionally and those who are not working in the art field at the same time with the common point of 'Aomori Toyama High School'. ', he says.

    A woman in her 20s who came to see a friend's work said, ``I learned for the first time that Aomori Toyama High School had an art department. It was a wonderful exhibition where I could show the works that were born.I was inspired by the works."

    Mr. Miyano said, "There are many members who meet only at this once-a-year special exhibition. Although the ages are different, it is a community that is connected by 'love for Aomori Toyama High School.' Through the special exhibitions, I would like to continue to steadily continue as a place that leads to the vitality of the city through awareness and stimulation," he said.
