Aomori City Planning Department Planning and Coordination Division "New Work Style Promotion Office" (TEL 017-752-8751 ) held "Creator Workation Experience in Aomori" for three days from September 3rd to 5th.

Workation is a coined word that refers to working while enjoying leisure in a place away from the workplace or home. Aomori City is working on a workation that emphasizes ties with the community.

This event is a regularly scheduled workation experience arranged for creators. Ten artists from all over the country participated in the project, including leather products, crochet, and kimono accessories, in a project in collaboration with Creema (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates a marketplace that handles handmade works.

The three-day itinerary is structured so that you can learn about the charm of Aomori City and the manufacturing environment. In addition to visiting Uto Shrine, the Sannai-Maruyama Ruins, and the Aomori Museum of Art, we also visited the craft event held at the Aomori Prefectural Tourism and Products Center Aspam. In addition to an exchange meeting with creators active in Aomori, the making of lampshades with motifs of Aomori's traditional craft "Koginzashi", and a factory tour of Hokuyo Glass that produces "Tsugaru Vidro".

Ms. Sawako Kato, who participated in the event, said, "Tourist attractions are compactly organized, it seems easy to drive, and the environment seems to be easier to live than I thought. The Aomori Museum of Art, which I've always wanted to go to, was unexpected. There were also works that weren't there, and I was able to take a closer look at them," he said with a smile.

Crema Yuki Watanabe, who accompanied the tour, said, "It was my first time in Aomori, but it was a pleasant day with a comfortable climate and everyone who welcomed me warmly. There are many events and living environments, etc. I think there are many people who have been able to imagine that."

The “Creator Workation Experience in Aomori” will also be held from September 23rd to 25th, and on the 24th, participating creators will open a store at the “Asamushi Marche” held at the roadside station “Yuasa Asamushi”.
