    From September 9th to 11th, the ninth print exhibition "Friends who enjoy prints" will be held at the Takken Museum of Art Exhibition Hall (2 Shinmachi, Aomori City) in Aomori.

    The exhibition was started in 2013 by volunteers who are active in printmaking within the prefecture, based on the concept of a “free, equal, and fun print exhibition”. The museum will exhibit woodblock prints, copperplate prints, eraser prints, etc., gathered from participants who want to present their own prints. Many of the works are from Aomori Prefecture, but there are also works from outside the prefecture, such as Tokyo and Kanagawa.

    This year, a total of 51 works will be on display: 2 from the Elementary School Division, 5 from the High School Division, 42 from the General Division, and 2 from the Collaborative Work. From 11:00 on September 8th, there will be a copperplate engraving demonstration at the venue (no prior application required).

    Yoshiko Takebayashi, a printmaker representing the executive committee, started printmaking in her 40s when she attended a class to "make New Year's cards with prints", and graduated from Musashino Art University in her late 50s. have. Mr. Takebayashi said, "Through trial and error, I created an exhibition of works that the general public would be interested in and visit. While preserving tradition, it has become a fun print exhibition that fuses the sensibilities and ideas of young people. I hope many people will come and visit.”
