    The Aomori City Forestry Museum (Yanagawa, Aomori City, TEL 017-766-7800 ) was certified as a forestry heritage site on May 20. Organized by the Japanese Forestry Society.

    A Renaissance-style wooden building that mainly uses cypress from Aomori Prefecture. In 1982 (Showa 57), it opened as the Aomori City Forestry Museum, which explores forests and trees.

    The museum has 6 exhibition rooms, such as cypress trees from Aomori Prefecture and animals living in the forest. There is also an exhibition of cars.

    The museum is also known for being used as a filming location for the 1977 movie "Mount Hakkoda," and exhibits restored scenes used in filming.

    Open from 9:00 to 17:00 (April 1st to October 31st). The admission fee is 250 yen for adults, 130 yen for high school and university students, and free for junior high school students and younger and those over 70 years old.
