    Tsugaru Railway's stove train in Goshogawara, Aomori, began operation on December 1st.

    Tsugaru Railway's winter train with a coal stove inside. Beginning in 1930 as a way to keep warm, it has become established as a winter tradition. Nowadays, tourists from outside the prefecture are also visiting.

    On the first day of operation in Aomori Prefecture, the winter-type atmospheric pressure pattern became stronger, and snow fell throughout the area, and the weather around Goshogawara occasionally became bubbly. At the "Stove Ichiban Train Departure Ceremony", Mr. Chojiro Sawada, president of Tsugaru Railway, declared that it was "a perfect day for the stove train." Fifty people boarded two carriages of the stove train.

    A man in his 60s who was visiting Aomori from Saitama for sightseeing said with a smile, "I've been to Aomori several times, but this was the first time I've seen a stove train. Winter tourism is what makes Aomori tourism so appealing."

    In addition to the fare, it costs 500 yen to ride. Runs until March 31st.
