Hirosaki's hair salon "Vintage premium" (Motodera-cho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-35-1214 ) is now a hot topic on social media, saying, "You can get your hair cut in a luxurious Western-style building." are collecting.

The restaurant is located in the Western-style building of the Former Takaya Family Villa, a nationally registered tangible cultural property. In addition to the Western-style building, the former Takaya family villa has a Japanese pavilion and an inner room that are registered as cultural assets. The Japanese restaurant "Suimeiso" was open in the Japan Pavilion, but closed in September 2020.

The photo of the store "Vintage Premium" posted on September 28th by the Twitter account "Bibraski", who lived in Kanto and got a haircut while traveling, was a hot topic. After introducing it seven times, it received a total of about 2,000 likes, and there were voices such as "I can't believe there was a barber shop with such an elegant and luxurious space in Hirosaki" and "It's so awesome that I don't understand it." sent.

The concept of the beauty salon, which was relocated and opened in 2012 (Heisei 24), is "a salon where you can enjoy life while staying young forever". Kaoru Yamauchi, general manager of the company, said, "I've heard about opening cafes and hotels, but I think it's rare nationwide to have a beauty salon open."

According to Mr. Yamauchi, the Western-style building of the former Takaya family villa was used as a restaurant and during the war as a military facility. “It is said to have been built in imitation of the Imperial Hotel of Frank Lloyd Wright, a representative architect of the 20th century, and its timeless and beautiful appearance is the same as our concept of anti-aging,” says Mr. Yamauchi.

When it opened, the stained glass and chandelier were left as they were, except for changing the carpet at the entrance to the floor. Mr. Yamauchi said, "We didn't set up a checkout counter or a reception desk, we only installed a shampoo facility to make the best use of the building's beauty."

The store will celebrate its 10th anniversary in November this year. Mr. Yamauchi said with a smile, "It's a historic building, but I thought it was natural to work there for 10 years, but I felt the value again. I myself started to like looking at the building after I started working here." show. Mr. Yamauchi recalls that although it has been introduced in sightseeing tour courses in the past, this is the first time that tourists from outside the prefecture have booked a haircut and come to see the building. “I would be happy if it was an opportunity for people to get to know our store and Hirosaki,” he said.
