This year marks the 300th anniversary of the appearance of Neputa in historical records, and the Hirosaki Neputa 300th Anniversary Festival was held as an event to celebrate the milestone. In addition to the 7 groups that participated in this year's Hirosaki Neputa Festival, `` Aomori Nebuta '' from Aomori City, ``Shiretoko Shari Neputa'' from Shari Town, Hokkaido, which is a friendship city of Hirosaki City, and ``Ojima Neputa'' from Ota City, Gunma. did.

The service was carried out on a special route, starting from the north area in front of Hirosaki Station and making a round trip of about 500 meters to the front of Hirosaki Station. The executive committee, which hosted the event, called on spectators along the route and participants in the operation to take measures to prevent infection, such as maintaining physical distance, wearing masks, and refraining from cheering.

Aomori Nebuta Nebuta's large-scale Nebuta "Light of Wishes - Yakushi Nyorai, Genjo Sanzo and the Twelve Divine Generals" is a collaboration project by 14 Nebuta masters that was realized in 2020 through a crowdfunding project. This was the first time that large nebuta were operated in Hirosaki, and the dancing of the Haneto dancers and the chants of “Rassera” drew the attention of Hirosaki spectators, many of whom were pointing their cameras and smartphones at them.

While the large fan Neputa and group Neputa were in operation, the two groups that carried the traditional Neputa on their shoulders put on a showdown that was reminiscent of the "Kenka Neputa" that was said to have been held until the early Showa period. A big round of applause erupted at the spectacle of the Neputa floats facing each other, which cannot be seen in the joint service.

According to organizers, there were 120,000 spectators. On August 28, the daytime service is scheduled to begin at 11:00.
