Tsugaru Railway (Goshogawara City, TEL: 0173-34-2148 ) is currently operating the Yumemiru Kinotake Train in collaboration with confectionery manufacturer Meiji (Tokyo).

Tsugaru Railway is a 20.7-kilometer local railway that connects Tsugaru Goshogawara Station to Tsugaru Nakazato Station in Nakadomari Town. In addition to the "Stove Train" and "Wind Chime Train", there are event trains such as "Run, Melos", which operates because the novelist Osamu Dazai's birthplace is along the line, and are also working to attract tourists.

Inside the Yumemiru Kinotake-go, there are 6 original wind chimes that mimic the image of "Kinoko no Yama" and "Takenoko no Sato". Produced by Tsugaru Kanayama ware (Kanayama, Goshogawara City). At Tsugaru-Goshogawara Station and Tsugaru-Nakazato Station, special refrigerators will be installed, and small bags of "Kinoko no Yama" and "Takenoko no Sato" will be distributed free of charge.

The collaboration was triggered by the results of the questionnaire conducted in 2020, “Kinoko no Yama / Takenoko no Sato National Survey 2020 ~ Love is Japan's Genki Project ~”. Aomori Prefecture ranks first in the nation in terms of the percentage of respondents who frequently see dreams of mushroom mountains, and third in the percentage of respondents who frequently see dreams of bamboo shoots.

Yasushi Shiratori of the General Affairs Division of Tsugaru Railway said, "Ever since the Meiji period when I learned about the 'Furin Train' that was in service during the summer, 'Kinoko no Yama' and 'Takenoko no Yama' are delicious even when chilled. I was offered a collaboration with Sato."

The Yumemiru Kinotake train will start operating on August 17th. Shiratori said, "Families and tourists have increased. Local passengers tend to be hesitant, but I was impressed by how happy they were when I handed them 'Kinoko no Yama' and 'Takenoko no Sato.' ’ he says with a smile.

    Runs until August 31st.
