The outdoor music festival "SUMMER JAM" will be held on August 13th at space DENEGA (Kamigawaragacho, Hirosaki City).

An outdoor music event that has been held every summer at Kuroishi since 2016 with the concept of "I want to enjoy summer with music". It was canceled for two years due to the spread of the new coronavirus, and this time it will be held for the first time in three years. The venue was Nijinoko Park (Okiurasanjin, Kuroishi City), and it was planned to be the largest outdoor event ever. Announced.

Shoei Tamakuma, the organizer, is a farmer who runs an apple farm in Kuroishi while working as a dance instructor at four studios and four nursery schools in Aomori Prefecture. “In the summer, I like gathering at Neputa huts where they start making Neputa, and I like places where people can interact. ” said Mr. Tamakuma.

Mr. Tamakuma says that he has come to feel the power of music every time the event is held. He wanted people to feel music in a better environment, so he expanded the scale of the event year by year. Mr. Tamakuma said, "Music makes us feel positive, supports communication, and enriches our lives. During the two years that were canceled due to Corona, we were deprived of the opportunity to meet face-to-face, and everyone's feelings were changed. I tended to go in a dark direction.I wanted to use the possibilities of music to move my feelings forward even a little."

Aomori Prefecture experienced record-breaking heavy rains from August 9 due to a stationary front. The venue, Nijinoko Park, is located on the dam lake of the Asaseishikawa Dam, and due to the possibility of landslides in the surrounding area and the environmental deterioration of the venue, we had to make a hasty decision to change the venue. “Guests and stallholders keep coming out with their hearts.

Performers include performers from outside the prefecture, such as Sendai-based hip-hop artist GAGLE, beat maker grooveman Spot, and R&B singer/songwriter aimi. Tamakuma said with a smile, "The performers I met through dance activities and music, and whose performance quality I can trust."

At the venue, there will be a dining space where four shops will open and a space for selling second-hand clothes and other items. The active area and pool area have disappeared due to the venue change, but it will be a venue that can be enjoyed indoors and outdoors using the courtyard in Space Denega.

Tamakuma said, "I'm sorry to those who were looking forward to the event at Nijinoko Park, but it's the result of thinking safety first. I hope that we can share the positive energy and potential of music with us.”

The event is held from 12:00 to 20:00. Admission is 3,500 yen, free for junior high school students and younger.
