Cafe & Bar "From O" (Owani-cho, Minamitsugaru-gun, TEL 0172-55-9933) opened in front of Owani Onsen Station on June 23rd.

The store was opened by Haruya Yamamoto and Yojiro Sakamoto, both from Owani. Currently, Mr. Yamamoto is 27 years old and Mr. Sakamoto is 28 years old. From November of last year, the YouTube channel "Wonder Wand" was used to broadcast the renovation of a 50-year-old former confectionery store, and the store was opened.

It is said that Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Sakamoto were classmates up to junior high school and went to their respective high schools after graduation. Mr. Yamamoto went on to a university in Hokkaido, and Mr. Sakamoto went to Tokyo to go on to school. After graduating from university, the two got a job in Tokyo. "I tried to get out of Owani, but every time I heard about Owani's friends and Owani, I felt like going back to Owani and doing something," says Yamamoto.

Mr. Sakamoto made a U-turn in October 2020. It is said that he started thinking about opening a cafe while helping the family business. In July 2021, when Mr. Yamamoto made a U-turn, he found the tenant and had already begun preparations for opening. Mr. Sakamoto recalls, "I searched online for what I didn't understand, made it myself, received advice from local people in the main business, and distributed the situation."

The store area is 24 tsubo. There are 22 seats. The ceiling was plastered, wallpapered, and the floor was raised by two people. Counter shelves and tables are also handmade. He said that he did not prepare a rendering of the store, but exchanged opinions on the spot to finish it. "There are times when we disagree with each other, but one of them voluntarily breaks and respects each other," says Yamamoto.

The cafe menu includes foods such as sandwiches (starting at 600 yen), thick-sliced pizza toast (500 yen), and French toast (450 yen), as well as coffee, tea (350 yen and above), and various soft drinks (250 yen). .. The bar menu includes today's pasta (600 yen), ajillo (650 yen), and dried fruits (400 yen). We serve alcohol such as draft beer (550 yen) and various cocktails (500 yen and up).

The name of the store is "From O" with the meaning of "From Owani to the world". The purpose is not to open a cafe, but to gather young people from the same store and to convey the charm of Owani. Mr. Yamamoto says, "I want to create a cafe where men and women of all ages can stay together. We will continue to send messages from Wonder Wand."

Mr. Sakamoto says, "What we want to do is to liven up the local Owani. We want to think about new gimmicks, make our own neputa from next year, and shape what we want to do one by one." ..
