    On June 3rd, three stores selling cider in Hirosaki City held an event such as tasting in time for "World Cider Day".

    "World Cider Day" was established in 2013 by a German producer group to spread the appeal of apple brewing "Cider" to the world. In recent years, the Hirosaki area has been increasing the number of workshops that make craft ciders, triggered by the approval of the "House Wine Cider Special Zone" by the National Tax Agency in 2014 (Heisei 26).

    The three stores that held the event were "Hachidori Hotel" (Tomita, Hirosaki City), Cafe Restaurant "Brick" (Yoshinocho), and Cider & Cafe "Pom Marche" (Hyakkokumachi). At each store, the cider sponsored by the "Hirosaki Cider Association" was served to the visitors.

    "Hachidori liquor store" sells 3 kinds of cider drink comparison set, food menu that matches cider, baked goods, etc. from 14:00. We also held an eat-in event using a kakuuchi space. President Hiroyuki Kato said, "Many people are not familiar with cider yet. This was the first event this year, so I would like to hold it every year."

    At "Brick", "BRICK-style Borito Mist" was sold for a limited time on the day as a dish that goes well with cider. We also planned to set cider as a set and provide another cup of cider to SNS posters.

    In addition to selling a limited food menu, "Pom Marche" also sold 14 types of domestic and foreign cider. In addition, the "Court Needs of Wimple Brewery" in the United Kingdom was connected online, and a tour of the brewery was also held.

    Mr. Nobuhiro Nakata, a local apple farmer who participated, said, "I was interested in how to make apples in England and how to sell cider. I hope that the event will lead to more rooting of cider as a culture in Hiromae."
