A competition between the castle tower of Hirosaki Castle and "Diamond Iwakiyama" was seen on May 20th at the Hirosaki Castle Honmaru Observation Deck.

"Diamond Iwakiyama" is named because the phenomenon that shines like a diamond at the moment when the sun overlaps the summit of Mt. Fuji is called "Diamond Fuji", and the same phenomenon can be captured at Mt. Iwaki called Tsugaru Fuji.

The castle tower of Hirosaki Castle is on the third floor and three floors, and is one of the 12 existing castle towers. Currently, to repair the stone wall of the main enclosure, it has moved to the center of the main enclosure about 70 meters from its original position. Along with the construction of the castle tower Hikiya, an observation deck has been set up where you can see the Hirosaki Castle castle tower with Mt. Iwaki in the background.

It was sunny on the same day, and clouds began to accumulate on the summit of Mt. Iwaki in the evening, but the clouds disappeared around 18:00, which was a great opportunity. At 18:12, the spectators gathered on the observation deck witnessed "Diamond Iwakiyama" and were pleased with the momentary co-starring with the castle tower of Hirosaki Castle.

Kazuya Sakuma, a geography enthusiast living in Hirosaki who predicted Mt. Iwaki, said, "The weather is often bad in May, and I'm glad to see the co-star.
