The special exhibition "Ryoji Ikeda Exhibition" is currently being held at the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art (Yoshino-cho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-32-8950 ).

This special exhibition exhibits installations composed of video and sound, such as display works and projection works. This will be the first large-scale solo exhibition in Japan in 13 years by Ryoji Ikeda, a composer and artist based in Paris.

The main work "date-verse 3" of the solo exhibition, which consists of eight works including recent works and new works, was released in Switzerland in 2021 and is the first exhibition in Japan. In addition to large projection works that utilize the exhibition room with a height of 15 meters, works such as "data.flux [n ° 1]" with a display of about 13 meters in length placed on the ceiling are lined up.

Mr. Tatsuhiro Ishikawa, the director of the museum's arts and sciences, said, "This museum is a reborn brewery factory with a history of 100 years. It has become. "

You are free to take videos and photos in the hall. At the end of the exhibition, an "Archive & Listening Space" will be set up where you can watch and browse past works by Mr. Ikeda. The "Student Appreciation Support Project" will be held at the same time as the first 1000 students who are currently enrolled in five universities in Hirosaki City can view it for free.

Mr. Ikeda says, "There is no answer to how I feel about my work, and I want you to experience it freely." "I would like to thank you for holding a large-scale domestic solo exhibition in Hirosaki for the first time in a long time."

Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Closed on Tuesdays (open on April 26th, May 3rd, and August 2nd). The admission fee is 1,300 yen for the general public and 1,000 yen for college and vocational school students. Free for high school students and younger. Until August 28th.
