"Kudo Bread" (Aomori City) started selling the new product "Original British Toast" of its main product "British Toast" on January 1st.

British toast is a sweet bun with margarine and granulated sugar sandwiched between two mountain-shaped breads. It is distributed only in a part of the Tohoku region centering on Aomori prefecture. Since its release in 1967 (Showa 42), it has also been called "Aomori Prefecture's soul food" and features a package designed with the British flag. To date, there are 220 to 230 types of series products.

"Original British Toast" is made into one piece of bread and sold according to the specifications at the time of its release. According to the person in charge, it was from 1976 (Showa 51) that the two pieces were combined. The reason for changing to two is that the filling sticks to the bag.

At Kudo Bread, we started the reprint series in June 2020, hoping that it would be a bright topic and story of conversation with the family because of the corona. Started resale of sweet buns sold before 1975, and sold "Fried Sandwich" as the first series. This is the second year, and "chocolate cake" and "Camembert cheese bread" are becoming standard products.

When I announced the sale of "Original British Toast" to Twitter, which started in July last year, in addition to reactions such as "nostalgic" and "I ate it when I was a child", it was difficult to take it out and I licked the filling on the bag. There was a post that reminded me of what I did.
