Jingi Odagiri, a rice farmer and musician living in Aomori, released his fifth music album "STARTER KIT 2" on December 20th.

Jingi Odagiri, also known as "Odajin," runs a 20-hectare rice farm in the Tsugaru / Inagaki area and engages in music activities centered on the Internet. The total number of views of the videos published on YouTube is more than 10 million times, and the number of subscribers is more than 53,700. He handles songwriting, performance, and music video editing by himself.

After graduating from high school, Odagiri attended a music vocational school but dropped out. Began to establish a style of performing music activities while helping the farming of his parents' house. "I like the Beatles, and when I learned that Paul McCartney was engaged in music activities while farming, I started to aim for myself," says Odagiri.

I started posting videos on YouTube in 2013 (Heisei 25). Aomori's YouTuber "Wanibun" requested that "I want to use the posted song for the ending of the video", which led to an increase in composition requests and song provision.

The first album CD will be released in 2016 (Heisei 28). Although it was digitally distributed, Mr. Odagiri said, "I wanted to keep it as a form, and there were strong requests from users." Released in 2018, "STARTER KIT" is an album designed to let first-timers know about themselves, and has undergone three minor changes so far. "I can add and change songs even if I release them because I'm doing it alone," he smiles.

"Starter Kit 2" is an album that was created to let even the first person know about himself, following the previous work. All 15 songs are recorded, and 2 songs are newly written. "I make lyrics from the melody that came to me during farm work. There is no song that has the theme of Aomori, but I try to make songs that will be heard forever," says Odagiri.

With the release of the new album, the "Starter Kit" and the 2-disc "STARTER KIT W Pack (with New Year's card)" (5,980 yen) will also be on sale. The New Year's card is handwritten by Mr. Odagiri and is only for purchasers within the year. "I'm in the off-season, so I can use my time relatively freely. I'll do the CD shipping work myself," he smiles.

The number of online music activities is increasing due to the corona, but rice farmers will continue to do so. Agricultural work schedule for next year is already planned, and Mr. Odagiri is enthusiastic that "I would like to focus on live activities next year."
