The event "mt Expo 2021 Aomori", which collects only masking tape, is currently being held at "Former Hirosaki Kaikousha" (Miyukicho, Hirosaki City).

The event is held once every two years. Organized by "Kamoi Processed Paper" (Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture), which manufactures masking tapes and fly-removing tapes for industrial use, stationery, and miscellaneous goods. This is the first time the event has been held in the Tohoku area.

Former Hirosaki Kaikousha is a Western-style building with a Renaissance design built in 1907 (Meiji 40), and was used as a social gathering place and academic research facility for officers working in the 8th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army. In 2001 (Heisei 13), it was designated as a national important cultural property. The preservation and repair business has been carried out since 2013, and the exhibition has been resumed since last year.

960 original design goldfish neputa are exhibited on the main floor of the venue. Limited tapes will be sold at the shop, which is divided into 6 rooms including the main floor. In addition to exhibiting decorative benches, huts, and event photo works in the garden, Yodogawa Technique's work "Masking Tape Statue" will be placed at the entrance. Corridors and windowpanes are decorated with masking tape to the extent permitted.

At the event, we will prepare multiple tapes limited to the venue. Mamemame tape (209 yen) designed with round slices of apples and venue-limited tape (10 types = 3,542 yen) designed with Tsugaru dialect, nebuta, nebuta, tuna, etc. with the theme of Aomori. We sell by weight (1 gram = 4 yen and up), plan, grab (500 yen), and grab (500 yen).

There are 8 types of goldfish neputa on display, which will be sold by pre-order. It will be mailed after the exhibition is over, and one piece = 2,200 yen (including shipping). Since they are all made by hand, they have different facial expressions and shapes, and the purchaser can specify and purchase the one on display. Accounting is cashless payment only.

Mari Sato of the Kamoi Processed Paper Sales Department said, "Goldfish Neputa is an installation work that can only be exhibited in Hirosaki, and I would like the locals to see it. It would be great if you could also touch on the charm of masking tape." Show a smile.

The holding time is from 10:00 to 18:00. Until October 21st.
