Hirosaki's "Ishigooka Motor Shoten" ( Watokumachi , Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-32-0591) is currently exhibiting a used motorcycle "Red Meteor for Shah" on Yahoo! Auctions.

Honda's "DJ-1R" from the 1980s is arranged in the style of a red "dedicated machine" that moves three times faster than the robot "Zaku" that appears in the space war animation "Mobile Suit Gundam". Shinichi Ishigooka, the owner of the store, said, "I remember the Gundam that I liked because of the influence of my children, and the face of DJ-1R began to look like a robot, and I thought it would be interesting to remodel it."

Founded in 1957 (Showa 32), the store sells and repairs used cars and bicycles. It is said that Mr. Ishigooka's father, Shinroku, started it. Mr. Ishigooka, who took over the store in 2016 (Heisei 28), has begun to mainly handle used motorcycles as it is now. “I started to repair and sell motorcycles that I admired when I was young, and I wanted to handle motorcycles rather than cars,” says Ishigooka.

The bike was purchased last December. Mr. Ishigooka recalls, "It was really tattered and worth the repair." I checked the fuel tank, repainted the peeled paint in red, and while filling in the putty of the scratches, I came up with the idea, attach the tsuno with a dust tube or sponge, remove the light cover and remodel it like a "dedicated machine" .. It was named "Red Meteor for Shah".

The repair was prolonged and took until June 11. "It was harder to repair the bike itself, such as the engine, than to remodel it," says Ishigooka. "I was able to run without problems in the test run conducted on the premises. Since it is a two-stroke engine that is no longer manufactured due to exhaust gas regulations, it has acceleration power and moves exactly three times faster," smiles.

Exhibited on the auction site "Yahoo! Auctions" on the day it was completed. The bid selling price is 120,000 yen. The bid will end on the 16th, but if it does not sell, it is considering extending the period and changing the sales method.

Mr. Ishigooka said, "It's popular with my family who love Gundam. Some people take pictures if they leave it in the store. I'd be happy if you could buy it. I'm most happy to have people laugh at what the bike shop is doing (common sense). "
