"Kawamura Meat Shop Waseda" (TEL 0172-40-2662 ) opened on March 20th in Waseda, Hirosaki City.

Kawamura Meat Shop is mainly engaged in meat sales and wholesale business, which was founded in 1937 (Showa 12). The catchphrase is "hard credit and soft meat," and it is currently run by the 4th generation Ryosuke Kawamura.

"Waseda store" is the first directly managed brand store, and sells barbecue meat handled at Kawamura butcher shop, yakiniku lunch box grilled with Bincho charcoal, and prepared foods. In 2020, we opened an online shop and started developing new products. “We decided to take on the challenge of retailing because sales to vendors fell due to the corona sickness,” says Kawamura.

The illustration on the signboard is based on the graffiti of Mr. Kawamura's daughter. It is said that he aimed for an impactful illustration that would be easy for families to enter. The store was opened on the site of a butcher shop to reduce repair costs. The store manager, Hiroyasu Yamazaki, was a driver who was in charge of delivery to vendors, and was overtaken by the store manager at this store opening.

The menu includes grilled meat lunch (702 yen), Japanese beef aburi grilled meat (918 yen), beef tongue grilled lunch (842 yen), Japanese beef ribs (100 grams = 518 yen), pork mixed horumon (100 grams = 97 yen), and marbled meat. Steak (200 grams = 1404 yen) etc. The meat used for bento is baked after receiving an order, so it takes about 10 minutes. Call for advance reservations over the phone.

Mr. Kawamura says, "This is one form in which our company, which has a history of more than 80 years, has begun to focus on retailing with the aim of becoming a 100-year-old company. First, we want to get people to know the store and take root in the community."

Business hours are from 9:00 to 18:00. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
