On December 20, Hirosaki's Tsugaru Nuri Manufacturing "Tsugaru Nuri Tanaka" sold a new product "Touch Tsugarnuri" using the Tsugaru Nuri technique.

The new product we have developed is a product that uses unevenness that has undergone a process called "device" that is indispensable for expressing patterns, out of the more than 30 processes of Tsugaru Nuri. In addition to the 300ml tumbler and gui, there are 3 types of 10ml spray bottles, each with 5 colors.

The product was planned by Toshiki Tanaka, the 4th president. Since he had been in and out of the Tsugaru Nuri factory since he was a child, he said he was hoping to create a product that feels good to the touch and can be enjoyed even if he touches it.

Development will start this spring. There are already Tsugaru-coated products applied to glasses, but this is the first attempt to commercialize a product in the middle of the process. The prototype received from the Tsugaru painter had some problems in how to apply it, but he said that he had already felt the possibility.

Initially, only tumblers and guis were available, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus, we have added a spray that can be used for disinfection to the lineup. "It can also be used as a spray bottle to hold lotion and perfume," says Tanaka.

The colors are "Kiiro", "Orenji", "Blue", "Pink", and "Murasaki", and the design is a mixture of the two colors. Mr. Tanaka says, "We made many trials, such as the color scheme of the bottom and top and the selection of colors, and were particular about the details. We also prepared special tools for painting."

Mr. Tanaka is confident that "not only by touching, but also by the liquid that is put in, the appearance changes and the way of enjoying is widened.
