On December 1st, at the restaurant "Kozakura" in the agricultural products direct sales office "ANEKKO" (Miyaji Kawazoe, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-82-1055), "Ichoda no Seri Nabe" Offer has started.

Itchoda auction is a winter vegetable that has been cultivated in the Itchoda district of the former Iwaki town for about 400 years. The area, which has abundant spring water from Mt. Iwaki, is said to have flourished in the cultivation of auctions because the spring water does not freeze even in winter. It is popular among locals as a winter tradition.

A bunch of auctions (100 grams) from Ichimachida is served on a plate for the auction pot (1 serving = 1,200 yen). The pot is a soy sauce-based soup with chicken, green onions, and tofu. Also prepare eggs for eating auction like shabu-shabu. Mieko Murakami, the president of "ANEKKO", says, "It's delicious to eat with rice like an uncle."

The restaurant has been selling auction pots for a limited time since December 2018. Mr. Murakami says, "The number of repeaters is increasing. The characteristic of Ichida's auction is the roots that have been carefully washed one by one. I definitely want you to eat the roots that are said to have high nutritional value."

Ryuta Ito, an auction farmer in Itchoda, cleans the harvested auctions in two steps. “We will determine the thickness of the roots of the harvested auctions and the degree of pain in the leaves, and discard 70% of the total yield. It takes time to manually deliver each one, but I want to deliver delicious auctions,” says Ito.

Kozakura is open from 11:00 to 16:00. The auction pot will be on sale until the end of January.
