On October 3rd, a keema curry specialty store "Yellow Straw Hat" (Kamishiroganecho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-88-6812 ) opened near Hirosaki Park.

The store changed from the hamburger specialty store "Cafe Dubois Kamishakugin" to a keema curry specialty store. It is operated by the design company "0172" (Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture), which also handles branding. The company is currently producing hamburger specialty stores "Uit Dubois Hachimanzaki" (Hirakawa City) and "Girl Dubois" (Aomori City), and soup curry specialty store "Spicy & Creamy" (Fujisaki Town).

The interior of the store, which is about 20 tsubo, has been renovated to have 18 counter seats facing the wall. A water pitcher is placed in the center, and the water is self-service. It sells miscellaneous goods on display shelves and mainly handles items outside the prefecture.

The menu is "white keema" (1,200 yen) with homemade keema curry (1,000 yen) and cheese. "Curry is stewed with vegetables such as Aomori beef and tomatoes, light-colored onions, and carrots, and less flour. I was worried about serving white keema until the end," said Shinpei Inoue, president. The drink menu includes homemade ginger ale, homemade lemon squash (360 yen or more), cola and oolong tea (260 yen or more). It also supports takeout.

Regarding the change of industry, Mr. Inoue said, "We moved from a location near Hirosaki Park to aim for tourists three years ago, but now we can no longer expect to attract tourists, and the fact that it is near the park is also a disadvantage. With staff and no sales expected, we had to take new steps rather than waiting for the new corona virus to converge. "

Mr. Inoue opened "Gare du Bois" in June this year and "Spicy & Creamy" in August. It is said that the "yellow straw hat" was an idea that made use of the know-how gained from "spicy & creamy" to make it easier to attract customers even with a corona virus.

Inoue says, "How can restaurants survive in the era of with corona and after corona? We will continue to take on challenges."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 15:00. Closed on Thursdays.
