The antique shop "FESTINA LENTE" in Tokyo will open on September 12th in the exhibition room on the 1st floor of the Hyakkokumachi Exhibition Hall (Hyakkokumachi, Hirosaki City).

The store, which used to sell used clothing and antique miscellaneous goods in Jimbocho, Tokyo, sells about 500 items. The store closed in December last year and is currently only a web shop. Kei Ueoku from Saitama and Shiki from Hirosaki were running as a couple.

The two currently live in Hirosaki. It is said that he closed the store and moved to Hirosaki when he had a child. “I wanted to raise my child in the country,” says Shiki. Kei says, "Hirosaki is a city where you can feel the culture and history, and I thought that if I wanted to reopen the store, I wouldn't hesitate to move."

After graduating from a vocational school, Kei worked as a beautician, but changed jobs to a second-hand clothing store and a recycle shop that he had been interested in for some time. After graduating from high school, Shiki left Hakodate and moved to Tokyo. It is said that he was asked to transfer the management rights of the store where Mr. Shiki was working when he got married, and he will start as a couple from 2018 (Heisei 30).

The name of the store is Latin for "slowly hurry". Kei goes to the United States to buy the products to sell. I had planned to travel to the United States in March and August this year, but canceled due to the new coronavirus. We had planned to open a store in Hirosaki, but it is currently blank.

"I have brought the products for two 2-ton trucks to Aomori. I can't help waiting for the infectious disease to settle. I wanted to meet the people of Hirosaki in some way to do what I could." Mr. "Until we open a store, we want to continue to hold events and store openings like this one," he said.

Mr. Shiki smiles, "I hope you will pick up our products and find your favorite."

The holding time is from 11:00 to 16:00.
