Marutori Dining Flame, a Western dining restaurant located near Hirosaki Station (Hirosaki Station, TEL 050-8883-6480 ), celebrated its second anniversary since opening on April 3rd.

This restaurant mainly serves rotisserie chicken. Rotisserie chicken is a French dish in which a whole chicken seasoned with herbs and spices is roasted for a long time in a special oven. Yoshihiro Okazaki, a Yokohama native, opened the restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

Okazaki gained experience in restaurants in Tokyo, and after working at a rotisserie chicken specialty restaurant in Shinbashi, he began to think about opening a restaurant that serves rotisserie chicken someday. As Okazaki's wife, Ayana, is from Hirosaki, he moved there in 2019 when they got married. With the goal of opening his own restaurant in Hirosaki, he gained more experience there and became independent in 2022.

Okazaki reflects, "I opened my shop in a place where I didn't know anyone, but I was able to keep it open for two years thanks to my connections with the people of Hirosaki and the customers who used my shop."

Looking back on the first year, Okazaki said with a smile, "When we first opened, we sold it as 'roast chicken,' but from August last year we decided to sell it as 'rotisserie chicken.' We improved the taste and tried opening stalls at events. Now we are able to attract more customers." In recent years, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan has also increased.

The menu includes a full-sized rotisserie chicken (2,490 yen), appetizer platter (1,210 yen), tuna and avocado tartare (680 yen), as well as set menus (from 2,500 yen) including rotisserie chicken and pasta of the day. For lunch, plate menus (from 1,000 yen), weekly pasta dishes and alcoholic drinks are also available.

They also put effort into original products, selling homemade dressings (600 yen) and special spices (430 yen) made with " Dakekimi Corn " in the store. They are also considering selling vacuum-packed rotisserie chicken in the future. Okazaki is enthusiastic, saying, "I want more people in Aomori to enjoy rotisserie chicken. I want to continue for a third and fourth year so that I can spread my wings even further."

Business hours are 11:30-13:30 and 17:00-21:00. Closed on Wednesdays.
