A donut specialty store, Ringocho Donut Shop, opened on March 9th in Waseda, Hirosaki City.

The store was opened with support from Fuwamochi Tei, a donut and bagel specialty store in Sapporo. The owner, Junya Kudo, who lives in Odate, Akita Prefecture, says, ``I have many friends in Hirosaki, so I decided to open a store there.''

Kudo worked as an employee for an organization and ate sweets and other sweets on business trips. When he went on a business trip to Sapporo around 2010, he was impressed by the donuts from Fuwamochi Tei, which was recommended to him by a friend, and decided to open a shop there.

Kudo started training in Sapporo last September and learned how to make donuts at Fuwamochi Tei. Each piece is handmade using Hokkaido wheat to create a fluffy and chewy texture. Kudo says, ``It was a great experience for me to learn how to make donuts that everyone from children to the elderly would want to eat as many as they want.''

The menu includes "Milk" (200 yen) made with milk from Aomori Prefecture, "Strawberry Milk" (270 yen) made with strawberry chocolate, "Chocolate" (230 yen) made with cocoa dough, and "Kinako Tiramisu" (270 yen), coffee dough "caramel macchiato" (270 yen), "cafe au lait" (230 yen), etc. There are six types of store-limited products (all priced at 270 yen), including ``Apple Pie,'' ``Tokachi Anko,'' ``Apricot Cream Cheese,'' and ``Apple and Cream Cheese Tart Style.''

It has been sold out every day for two weeks since opening. Currently, there is a purchase limit for donuts, with a maximum of 10 donuts per set. Kudo says, ``There is a limit to the number of items because they are all handmade without using machines. We apologize for the inconvenience to customers who are unable to purchase them, but we hope they understand.''

Business hours are 10:00 to 16:00. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (open on holidays).
