Yakiniku restaurant "Yakiniku Hope" (Minamiyanagida, Hirakawa City, TEL 0172-88-8029 ) opened on March 19th near Hiraga Station on the Konan Railway Konan Line.

A directly managed store of Mizuki Butcher Shop (Machii Minamida), a long-established butcher shop in Hirakawa that has been in business for 71 years. The store will offer the store's best-selling products, centering on ``Hirakawa Sagari,'' at reasonable prices. This is the first time Mizuki Butcher Shop has operated a yakiniku restaurant. Masachiyo Mizuki, the third-generation owner, says, ``As a butcher shop, we had to reduce waste. At the same time, there weren't many places to eat 'Hirakawa Sagari,' especially yakiniku restaurants.''

``Hirakawa Sagari'' is Sagari meat (mainly beef diaphragm) seasoned with a special sauce in Hirakawa, where the barbecue culture is deeply rooted. In 2019, the Hirakawa Sagari Institute, an organization made up of local residents, was launched in an effort to popularize it as a new local specialty.

``Customers have requested more restaurants where they can eat Hirakawa Sagari. We want to create a restaurant that can spread the word about Hirakawa Sagari even more,'' says Mizuki.

The store area is approximately 9 tsubo and has 22 seats. The menu includes sagari (beef = 800 yen, pork = 500 yen), ``white plate'' which is an assortment of fatty meats, ``red plate'' which is an assortment of red meat (over 800 yen), and beef. Tongue, loin (more than 1,000 yen), ribs (950 yen), etc. Salads, soups, and rice are also available. Drinks include draft beer (600 yen), cocktails (500 yen), and highballs (500 yen).

Manager Ryohei Matsuo says enthusiastically, ``We want to create a restaurant that locals can easily visit. We want to create a restaurant where people can communicate in various ways through yakiniku.''
