The Hirosaki City Central Community Center (Shimoshirogane-cho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-33-6561 ) is currently recruiting for ``memories and photos of Ito-Yokado Hirosaki Store.''

The Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store, which opened in front of Hirosaki Station in 1976, will close around October this year, Seven & i Holdings, which operates the store, has announced. The business will be taken over by OIC Group.

We are looking for memories of shopping at the Hirosaki store, eating at restaurants, etc., as well as items and photos that convey the history of the Hirosaki store. We are also recruiting via the dedicated submission form, X (old Twitter), and Instagram.

Hiroshi Shibata of the Hirosaki Central Community Center, which planned the event, said, ``I have fond memories of going shopping with my mother when I was a child. The closure is unfortunate news, but I would like to share with everyone my memories of the Ito-Yokado Hirosaki store, which has been loved by Hirosaki residents for a long time.'' I hope I can provide a brighter topic by doing this."

The collected memories and photos will be displayed in front of the central community center office, and will also be used as materials for local history research.

The call for applications began on March 9, and more than 50 applications were received, some of which were posted on X at the Hirosaki City Central Community Center. Mr. Shibata said with a smile, ``I have many memories of the rooftop amusement park, the hero show, and the observation restaurant, and I too have many memories that I can't tell you all about.''
