On January 24th, sake maker "Rokka Sake Brewery" (Miyajikawazoe, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-88-7280 ) began selling "Special Junmaishu Super Dry Torai."

This product is part of the new brand "Durai" series launched in September last year. It was brewed in a new production environment based on the technology of the old brand "Joppari". ``It's been about half a year since we launched the new brand, and we've decided to release a sake that's more in line with the old brand,'' says Yutaro Kosaka of the company's corporate planning department.

Rokka Sake Brewery is a long-established brewery founded in 1719 (Kyoho 4), and relocated last year from a more than 50-year-old sake brewery in Mukotoise, Hirosaki City. A new brewery with a direct sales store has been built next to the farmers' direct sales store "ANEKKO." Along with the relocation, a new brand, ``Dorai'', was launched from the main brand ``Joppari'', and production of ``Joppari'' was discontinued.

Mr. Kosaka said, ``The reason behind the relocation was the changing needs of the times and aging equipment, so we decided to take a drastic change of direction by relocating the sake brewery and launch a new brand. "Not only can we offer fresh sake, but we have created an environment where quality is our top priority," he says confidently.

According to Kosaka, ``Special Junmai Sake Super Dry Durai'' is already sold out at some stores. ``The response was better than we expected, and the 1.8 liter bottle was sold out.We were reminded once again of the high expectations we had.Since we are brewing throughout the year, we plan on shipping the next batch in March.''

    The price is 720ml = 1,760 yen, 1.8 liter = 3,520 yen.
