Enka singer Akane Honma, who lives in Hirosaki, announced her new song ``Kita no Umi Bushi'' on January 24th.

This is Mr. Honma's first song since transferring to King Records and his third new song. The lyrics were written by Takashi Maki. Koji Tokuhisa, who composed Misora Hibari's ``Omae ni Horeta'', composed the song. According to Honma, the result is a contrast between the masculine "Kita no Umi Bushi" set in the northern seas and the feminine coupling song "Aomori Ekika" set in Aomori.

Mr. Honma was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and moved to Hirosaki when he entered university. Hirosaki is her mother's hometown, and after graduating from university, she worked as a nurse and was active as an enka singer. In 2018 (Heisei 30), she won the 64th Aomori Prefecture Folk Song Championship, and in the same year, she released her first CD "Esashi Onnauta/Koi no Sakuramai/Tsugaru Oharabushi" from Crown Records.

``The song is set in my favorite places, the northern seas and Aomori, so it's a song that's very personal to me,'' said Honma. He was asked not to practice beforehand for the recording, which made him nervous at first, but he was able to successfully switch between masculinity and femininity, and was able to record both songs without any hitches.

The music video for "Aomori Ekika" was filmed on January 8th at Sotogahama. When he released it on his YouTube channel on January 22nd, it reached 5,000 views within three days of its release. The ``North Sea Festival'' portion is scheduled to be filmed and released after February.

"Kita no Kai Bushi" ranked 27th on the overall hit chart on the Oricon Daily Ranking on January 23rd. Honma said, ``I was the most surprised.I would like to express my gratitude and hope that as many people as possible will listen to my new song after changing my mind and transferring.''

    The price is 1,500 yen.
