    On January 7th, Hirosaki City's coming-of-age ceremony ``Reiwa 5 20th Year Celebration'' was held at the Hirosaki Civic Hall (Shimoshirogane-cho, Hirosaki City).

    A coming-of-age ceremony sponsored by Hirosaki City for residents of Hirosaki City, including foreign residents born between April 2, 2003 (Heisei 15) and April 1, 2004 (Heisei 16). According to an announcement by Hirosaki City, a total of 1,695 people, 874 men and 821 women, were targeted this year, an increase of 136 people compared to last year.

    The venue was the same as last year, Hirosaki Civic Hall, and there was no social distancing or distributed holding, and the event was held as usual before the coronavirus. At the ceremony, a celebratory performance was performed by the Hirosaki Gakuin Seiai Junior and Senior High School brass band.

    At the ``20-year-old oath'' by new adult representatives, new adult representatives Saki Nakata and Seitaro Ishizawa took the stage. Mr. Ishizawa expressed his determination, saying, ``I want to continue to feel grateful and proud of Hirosaki, which has nurtured us for 20 years,'' for the rest of my life.

    After the ceremony, the crowd in front of the Hirosaki Civic Hall was as lively as usual, with many people rejoicing at being reunited with old friends.
