Hirosaki's select shop "A.select" (TEL 0172-34-2248) relocated and opened on the 1st floor of the Hirosaki Kokusai Hotel (Hirosaki City, Dote Town) on February 27.

Under the concept of "let's change clothes and go out", the store was operating in the shopping building "Rene's Avenue" (Dote Town). Hideko Sato, the store manager, started his own store in August 2012 after gaining 20 years of experience in apparel shops handling kimono, fur, and leather.

The store area is 23 tsubo. Over 300 items such as coats, accessories, and bags are available. Mr. Sato says that he buys all the products with his own eyes. "Hirosaki has a lot of people who can wear their own one-of-a-kind items that are not trendy. We have things that are difficult to obtain in Tohoku that such people can understand," he says.

"Kogin de Jewel," which began selling on February 24, is an original brand of Kogin Sashi produced by Mr. Sato. "Kogin Sashi" is a craft that uses the traditional Tsugaru technique of sashiko. Chihoko Nakamura, a Kogin Sashimi writer who is a staff member of the store, creates the brand. The lineup of 12 types that represent the color of the birthstone is available in three types: a brooch with a charm (2,300 yen), a mini brooch (2,100 yen), and a ring (2,100 yen). Mr. Sato shows his willingness to propose new traditional crafts.

“I hadn't thought about doing business only in the bank of the bank,” says Mr. Sato from Ajigasawa, Aomori Prefecture, where Hirosaki was a city he longed to live in. “I've realized my dream. It's fun to share the same space with the people who shop in the bank. It would be annoying to say that I want to liven up the bank, but if people gather and I can help bring back a little vitality. I show a smile. "

Business hours are from 11:00 to 19:00.
