``Nahyans Shokudo'' (Minamiyokocho, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-55-8044 ) resumed operations on November 6th.

The restaurant is located in the vacant property of a sushi restaurant that serves ramen and set meals. The owner, Kazuya Kawaguchi, has previously run a sports bar and started a basketball club, the Hirosaki Raidbacks. ``Nahyans'' means ``What are you doing?'' in the Tsugaru language. ``I named the store because I always want to do something funny even if it makes people laugh,'' says Kawaguchi.

The store opened on August 11th of this year, but was forced to close on the 15th of the same year due to equipment problems. Looking back, Kawaguchi said, ``We had many customers come since the pre-opening, and it was about time, so I was really depressed.''

Kawaguchi, who felt he couldn't help but do something during the closure, sold bento boxes at his affiliated store, Izakaya Fumizou (in Kajicho), and personally prepared a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of ``resuming business.'' After appealing through YouTube and social media, more than 1.3 million yen in support was received. Mr. Kawaguchi, who had originally set a goal of 300,000 yen, says, ``It was reassuring.''

The store area is 25 tsubo, and the number of seats is 6 at the counter and 16 to 24 at the tatami room. The menu includes set meals such as "Nahyan's Ramen" (880 yen), "Hyan's Ramen for Students Only" (780 yen), fried chicken set (850 yen), and "Salmon Sesame Pickled Set" (1,000 yen). Prepare. Also available for takeout. In the evening, the restaurant is open by reservation only and offers an 8-course, all-you-can-drink course (5,000 yen).

``As we resume business, I would like to thank our regular customers for their support and warm support,'' said Kawaguchi. ``I want it to be a place where friends can gather and have fun,'' he says with a smile.

Business hours are 11:00 to 14:30. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
