Aomori's public bath "Asahi Onsen" (Tomita, Aomori City, TEL 017-766-9700 ) reopened on October 24th.

The hot spring has been closed since July 2021 due to a problem with the pipe that pumps the source water from about 900 meters underground. As a result of boring twice during the closure, hot springs were successfully produced, and the facility is now able to provide a stable supply of hot water.

Manager Fumihiro Ishizuka said, ``We were planning to reopen at the end of last year, but preparations such as replacing the tiles on the bathtub floor and renovating the sauna room and shower stall caused delays.'' Facility management was taken over by Towa Kanko (Nouchi Suzumori).

The hot water flows directly from the source. The spring quality is said to be a sodium chloride hot spring (hypotonic, weakly alkaline high temperature spring). Mr. Ishizuka said, ``The quality of the hot water is called ``hot water,'' and it remains warm even after you get out of the bath. When the previous owner checked the hot water that came out during this bowling, he said that it had returned to its old source. I'm listening.''

The washbasin has 32 seats each for men and women. It is equipped with a large bathtub, a bathtub for children, and a cold bath using 100% groundwater. In addition, there will be a hot spring bath and a wooden side bed for resting. Bathing fees are 480 yen for adults (junior high school students and older), 170 yen for elementary school students, and 80 yen for infants (1 year old and older). Coupon tickets (11 tickets) cost 4,800 yen.

To express our gratitude to local residents, we made bathing free of charge on October 24th and 25th. ``I was happy to see so many local people I hadn't seen in two years,'' said Ishizuka. ``Although the management organization has changed, the idea of contributing to the local community by putting the use of local people first has not changed.I want to continue to use it for a long time, regardless of profitability,'' he says with a smile.

Business hours are from 6:00 to 22:00 (until 24:00 in summer).
