The beauty salon "Janyan" (Shinmachi 1, Aomori City, TEL 017-718-3238 ) opened on Yoruten Street on September 30th.

The store is owned by Hideyuki Ima, who used to be the manager of a beauty salon in the Aomori Station building "Lavina." ``The station square and the night store street are places that bring back memories from my student days.I opened a store in this location because I wanted it to be a catalyst to bring us closer to the bustle of those days,'' said Ima.

After graduating from a vocational school in Morioka, Ima trained at a beauty salon in Tokyo before making a U-turn and changing jobs to Aomori. About two and a half years after being promoted from staff to manager at my previous store, I broke my right wrist in an accident. She decided to become independent after fully recovering from her injury, thinking that her career as a hairdresser might end without her owning her own shop.

The store name comes from the "JAN code" attached to the products. ``I thought it represented the value of the product, and I gave it the meaning of conveying the value of my store,'' says Ima. ``I found out that jan is written as jan in Belgian, so I settled on the current name of the store.''

The store area is 18 tsubo. There are 3 seats. According to Mr. Ima, the store is likened to a house, with the counter around the cash register as a kitchen, the shampoo stand as a bathroom, and the space by the window as a living room. ``I want our customers to relax and feel like they're going home.'' Ima says, ``I want our customers to relax and feel like they're going home.I hope we can also use it as a place for information exchange and interaction, such as music events and flea markets.''

Prices include cuts (general = 4,850 yen, high school students = 3,850 yen, junior high school students = 2,850 yen), color (from 5,000 yen), perms (9,850 yen), treatments (from 3,300 yen), etc.

Ima says, ``I want to treat each person individually and provide careful treatment.I want to create a place where children who want to become hairdressers want to work.''

Business hours are 10:00 to 20:00.
