Mao Sasaki, a singer from Inakadate village, will release her new single ``Igamenchi'' CD on October 4th.

In 2014, Sasaki won the first Grand Prix on the TBS audition program "Sing! Sing! Sing!" and made her major debut with the release of a mini album. After that, even though he took a break from music, he reaffirmed his desire to be on the side of delivering music. Currently, while continuing his music activities based in Tokyo, he also posts on TikTok and YouTube.

Igamenchi is a local dish from the Tsugaru region, where raw squid legs are pounded with a knife, chopped into small pieces, mixed with chopped onions, carrots, and other vegetables, flour, and potato starch, and then grilled or fried. In addition to being made at home, it is also sold in the deli corners of department stores and supermarkets. In the Aomori accent, it is pronounced ``Igamenchi'' instead of ``Ikamenchi''.

Sasaki says, ``I love Igamenchi so much that I want as many people as possible to know about it, so I came up with the idea of making a song.'' It's a rock-style song, and the chorus calls out "Igamenchi" repeatedly.

Sasaki reveals that the "Aomori Grandma" that appears in the lyrics refers to her grandmother. ``The igamenchi that Baccha (my grandmother) makes is the best in the world. I used to beg her to make it for me. Thanks to Baccha's igamenchi, I can now eat vegetables that I don't like.'' To compose the song, he learned how to make squid from his grandmother, and cut squid for the first time in his life. Mr. Sasaki had to pound the squid's slender parts with a kitchen knife, ``I thought it would hurt my wrist,'' but I learned that it takes a lot of time and effort to make it. It is said that the lyrics of the song can also be used as a recipe.

Sasaki expressed his enthusiasm, saying, ``I'd be happy if the song sparked an interest in Aomori. It's an easy song to remember, so I want children to sing it too.I want to sing it a lot at live shows and events.''

The price is 1,500 yen. Limited to 200 pieces. Pre-orders are currently being accepted on the website. Until September 30th.
