On September 15th, Aomori-based Yamamoto Foods began selling ``Pokémon Nebuta,'' a Nebuta pickle in an original package.

"Nebutazuke" is a soy sauce-based pickle containing herring roe, kelp, radish, and cucumber. Yamamoto Foods has been selling this product since 1965, and it uses a picture of Nebuta on its packaging. ``Pokemon Nebuta'' will be a ``Nebuta-zuke'' package with a design of the ``Ogapon & Pikachu Nebuta'' that ran at this year's `` Aomori Nebuta Festival.''

"Ogapon & Pikachu Nebuta" is a Nebuta to commemorate the release of the Nintendo Switch software "Pokémon Scarlet Violet Zero's Treasure". ``Pikachu'' and ``Ogapon'' that appear in the story were created by Shigeki Tezuka, a Nebuta artist who works at the Takenami Hiroo Nebuta Research Institute.

There are three types of Pokemon Nebuta to be sold: a 250g Nebuta pickle (799 yen), a gift with a gift box (994 yen), and a pack of two 50g bags (378 yen). The 50g 2-bag pack is scheduled to be shipped from October 2nd.

Kohei Yamamoto, president of Yamamoto Foods, who is himself a ``Pokémon veteran,'' says, ``We hope this will be an opportunity for new customers to learn about our products from a different perspective, and for new customers to try them out.''

It will be sold at Yamamoto Foods Yanagimachi's directly managed store "Nebuta 976" (Nagashima, Aomori), the official online shop, and souvenir shops and mass retailers in Aomori Prefecture.
