The inn "Hiryukaku" (Kodomari, Nakadomari-cho, Kitatsugaru-gun) is currently recruiting people to use the facility.

A two-story inn with one basement floor that closed in 2013. It measures 668 square meters, with three rooms on the first floor, eight rooms on the second floor, and a large hall and two bathrooms on the basement floor. Owner Akihiro Suzuki says, ``If there is someone who would like to use it, I would like them to do so for free.''

The inn opened in 1959 when Suzuki was 23 years old. After repeated expansions and renovations, the basement was built in 1989 (Heisei 1), and it took its current form in 1990 (Heisei 2). According to Suzuki, the hotel has hosted sightseeing tours in large buses, and entertainers such as Kiyoshi Kodama and Hiroki Matsukata have stayed there.

Since there is no successor, Suzuki decided to look for someone to take over. Rather than tearing down the inn, they chose to reuse it, including the stairs and ceiling made of Aomori hiba and Akita cedar, and the horizon that can be seen from the windows.

Suzuki says, ``There are parts around the water and other parts that are damaged, so it will need to be renovated, but I would like to give it to someone who will put it to good use.''
