"Café Maron" (Aomori City Yasukata 2, TEL 017-722-4575 ) started selling "Pumpkin Pudding" on September 1st.

The store was founded in 1970 (Showa 45). In addition to self-roasted coffee, we will prepare light meals such as "specialty" Jamaican curry, sandwiches, and sweets. The store is lined with old wall clocks, toys, and retro miscellaneous goods, and you can enjoy a variety of atmospheres from where you sit.

The pumpkin pudding, which is sold during the peak shipping season for pumpkins from Aomori Prefecture, is characterized by its two layers of pumpkin pudding soaked in caramel sauce and custard pudding. One hole is baked using a round cake mold, then cut into 10 equal pieces and served. The number of sales is 20 pieces per day. The price is 1 piece = 380 yen. The tickets will be on sale from around 9:30 a.m. (Available until next year's Golden Week).

According to Chika Fukushi, the store staff who makes the pumpkin pudding, the pumpkin pudding currently being sold is the second generation. Fukushi said, "I heard that they used to serve it at the store a long time ago, but they couldn't make it anymore because they were too busy. My grandmother used to grow pumpkins. That's when I thought about it," he says, looking back. After repeated prototyping, we finally reached completion.

``What's different from back then is that we've kept the sticky texture and we don't use cinnamon,'' says Fukushi. “I want people to enjoy the deliciousness of pumpkins from Aomori Prefecture.

Mr. Fukushi said, "For 10 years, I've been making small changes in the mixture of pumpkin and eggs, and in the last two years, I've finally reached a level of perfection. It took eight years, but I'm encouraged by the satisfaction of the customers. The number of take-out orders has also increased, saying, 'I want my family and friends to eat it.'

Business hours are from 7:00 to 17:00. Closed on Wednesdays and third Thursdays of the month.
