Kota Takada, a ghost story writer who lives in Hirosaki, published a novel "Zekkai" from Takeshobo Kaidan Bunko on August 29th.

An omnibus-style ghost story novel with all 38 episodes on the theme of "fear". Takada's new work is the first in five years. "Until now, I've written local ghost stories, but this time I focused on 'fear' and tried to return to my roots," says Takada.

Takada, a former newspaper reporter, began working as a ghost story writer in 2007. He has co-authored the "Fear Box" series and "Ou Kaidan". Released in 2018 (Heisei 30), "Horror Box Aomori no Kai" has become a best-seller for a long time, ranking in the sales rankings at bookstores in Hirosaki.

The ghost stories of "Zekkai" are based on true stories collected by Mr. Takada, and some of them are said to have been collected in Hirosaki. The reason for the "navel curve" written on the obi is that I have not written a ghost story that sells "fear" until now.

Takada said, ``It's natural to be afraid of ghost stories, so I didn't dare to use it as a theme. This work doesn't have regional characteristics, but the Tohoku and Aomori way of thinking about souls and death is rooted in the work. I hope you can feel the background of this.”

    The price is 781 yen.
