    "Hirosaki University COI Healthy Aging Innovation Summit 2016" will be held on January 29 at Hotel Naqua City Hirosaki (Omachi, Hirosaki City).

    The association introduces the results of the "Innovative Innovation Creation Program (COI STREAM)", an initiative in which the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Science and Technology Agency support large-scale industry-academia collaboration.

    Hirosaki University's proposal "Development of a breakthrough disease detection mechanism by fusing brain science research and big data analysis and development of preventive methods" was adopted from 190 applications nationwide.

    Koichi Murashita, professor and strategy director at COI Research Promotion Organization (Graduate School of Medicine), Hirosaki University, says, “Aomori, which is said to be the shortest-lived prefecture in Japan, is the source of social innovation.”

    On the day, in the Iwaki district of Hirosaki City, the health data collected from a total of 11,000 people and 600 items per person over the past 10 years are the pillars, and the extension of healthy life expectancy and quality of life (QOL) and GNH (happiness) of citizens of the prefecture I will look back on the one year of the project aiming to improve the future and announce future prospects.

    "The highlight of this year is the start of efforts to improve health literacy (health education) for residents," Murashita said. In addition to leader education that guides the health of each inhabitant, we will also report on health literacy classes held at elementary schools and the health initiatives that private companies are making to employees.

    At the venue, Mr. Shingo Mimura, Governor of Aomori Prefecture, Mayor Noriyuki Kasai, and other mayor attended the event, and Rakuten Toru Rei Hamano, who participated in the project, will give a special lecture. Keynote speeches will be given by the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Coordinator of Policy Management, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. After the event, we plan to hold a social gathering.
