Hirosaki to release ``obfuscated place name'' capsule toy according to the day of the place name
On July 28th, "Place Name Day", the anime goods specialty store "Animedia Blanco" (Nakano, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-32-8648 ) began selling capsule toys with the theme of difficult-to-read place names.
Place Name Day was established in 2008 by the Japan Place Name Enthusiasts Association in order to promote understanding and interest in place names.
"Animedia Blanco" has produced a bus stop acrylic stand and key holder with difficult-to-read Hirosaki place names as the third original goods "Hirosaki bus stop tour".
The line-up of capsule toys with the motif of a real bus stop includes "Naijoshi", "Sampinai", "Totsurazawa", "Oi no Mori", and "Dokko". (Tokko), ``Niina'', ``Kadoke'', ``Mukai Tonose'', plus 1 secret type in all 9 types. The price is 1 piece = 500 yen.
According to the owner, Mr. Yasuhiko Matsuoka, some place names in Aomori originate from the Ainu language and some place names reflect dialects. Matsuoka said, "I thought that even local people might not be able to read or understand the names of places. I hope this will be an opportunity to reconsider local place names."
