Aomori City held a workation project for parents and children for three days from July 14th to 17th.

Sponsored by City Planning Department Cooperation Promotion Division. It is one of the migration measures for people living outside the prefecture, and aims to strengthen their desire to migrate by experiencing life in Aomori, remote work environment, outdoor leisure, etc.

Hidetomo Masaki, who is in charge of the department, explains why the workshop was designed for parents and children. This time, 3 pairs of parents and 9 people participated. Four groups are scheduled to experience the workation in August.

The workation itinerary emphasizes content that allows you to enjoy interacting with Aomori and local residents in the summer. In addition to programs such as SUP experience in Asamushi, appreciation of Asamushi Nebuta, and outdoor play at Moya Hills, various contents such as fan making using Nebuta techniques and dinner exchange with immigrant families were included.

A woman in her 40s living in Tokyo who participated said, "I participated because I wanted to interact with local residents in a way that I can't get from sightseeing. I mainly traveled by car, felt the quiet environment around the accommodation, and was able to come into contact with the life and culture of Aomori." A teenage man, who said it was his fourth visit, said with a smile, "It's close to the sea, mountains, and other nature, and in a good way, it's just the right countryside. Now that I've seen more and more familiar scenery and places, I want to participate again with my father."

Masaki says, "In order to increase the number of immigrants and related populations, I would like to come up with content and plans that will make them fall in love with Aomori and revisit.

Workations for parents and children will also be held in Hiranai Town, Imabetsu Town, Sotogahama Town, and Yomogita Village. The application deadline has already passed, but the number of applications exceeded expectations.
