The first participatory projection mapping event "Wasamoya" in Aomori Prefecture will be held from December 11th at the Aomori Bank Memorial Hall (Moto Nagamachi, Hirosaki City).

Under the theme of Hirosaki's history and nature, the event projects images such as cherry blossoms, apples, and kogin sashimi on the front wall of the Aomori Bank Memorial Hall. The Aomori Bank Memorial Hall was the first national bank in the prefecture, established in 1879 (Meiji 12), and has a two-story Renaissance-style Western-style building. Since it is near Hirosaki Park, it is a popular photography spot for tourists.

Mr. Takashi Hirano of the Hirosaki City Tourism Policy Division, who sponsors the event, said, "The highlight of this event is the digital fireworks that use a tablet terminal to launch fireworks into a building." It is said that the pictures drawn on the dedicated tablet will be displayed as fireworks at the Aomori Bank Memorial Hall.

"Wasamoya" means Tsugaru dialect, "I want to try it" and "I want to be a friend". Shizushi Kunishige of "NHK Art," who was in charge of projection mapping video, is enthusiastic about "not an exhibition-type projection mapping, but a participatory event where everyone shares a space."

Mr. Hirano said, "If it is a chance to enjoy Hirosaki in addition to the festivals such as the Sakura Festival and the Neputa Festival, which are well known nationwide,"

The date and time of the event will be December 11th, 22nd and 24th at 18:15. December 12th, 13th, 23rd = 18: 00 ~. free entrance. During the exhibition period, vehicles on the road near the citizen's central square will be closed until 21:00.
