Hirosaki's Italian restaurant "Osteria Enoteca da Sassino" (Honmachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-33-8299 ) started selling homemade wine on June 21st.

This shop was opened in 2003 by Michiaki Sasamori, who was born in Hirosaki and returned from Italy. They serve Italian cuisine using local ingredients such as vegetables grown on their own farm. Wine brewing began in 2010, and Mr. Sasamori also cultivates grapes for brewing. Currently, they also produce cider, and in March this year, they were introduced as a “3-toque” restaurant in the restaurant guide “Gault & Millau”, which originated in France.

In addition to being able to drink the wine made by Mr. Sasamori at "Da Sassino", it was sold as a return gift for hometown tax donations and at local supermarkets, but he said, "I want to drink other wines as the number of customers who can drink has increased. We've had requests like this for a long time. Our store wasn't ready to sell, but we finally have a system that allows us to sell," said Mr. Sasamori.

The store sells 12 kinds of home-brewed wine and cider. It has been sold to customers for a long time, but from the same day, it was decided to sell it to general customers as well. Mr. Sasamori says, "We have a line-up that is only available at our store. We are also able to provide customer service, such as wine and food pairings and grape growing."

The store will celebrate its 20th anniversary in August this year. “We are not planning anything special, but we hope that it will be an opportunity for locals to get more of our wines, out of gratitude,” he says with a smile.

Sales hours are from 12:00 to 17:00. Closed on Sundays. Temporary closures will be announced on social media.
